Art Class - Story Aid Puppets

In conjunction with the upcoming Unit 6 stories in English, students are making stick puppets. They will have to look through the story and find details about each character. Each student will build 2 puppets. If we can acquire enough cardboard, we will also build a theater.

At this stage, students are still mostly researching their characters.

Science Class - Solar System

In Science class we did some research about the individual planets. Each tribe built 2 celestial bodies from paper, and we hung them across the classroom on a line. Ask your student if they think Pluto is a planet and why or why not!

Some of the boys get very enthusiastic about their presentations.

Art Class - Island Nation

On the final day of this project, we had a discussion about what each of the build was necessary for.

All of the students had added unique buildings on their various islands, Some of the most notable additions were libraries, restaurants, water pipes, windmills, defense systems, a monorail skybridge, traffic control lights, a drawbridge, and of course the 'sky needles' or flagpoles made from towers of straws.
